Veterans, Active Duty, Guards, and Reservists; as a US Army veteran myself I want to reccomend you take a look at the Operation Truth site. Operation Truth was started by 2 young US Army soldiers who have served in Iraq. It looks like a great idea that should be of help to all military members past, present and future!

What is Operation Truth?


Operation Truth will educate the American public about the truth of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan from the perspective of the soldiers who have experienced them first-hand. We will provide returning veterans with national, regional, and local podiums from which they will expose the preventable hardships that they endured as a result of failures at the top levels of leadership. We intend to publicize how poorly-planned policies and approaches have manifested themselves as problems on the front lines and back at home. We will act domestically to protect our troops and to aid them in their fight to protect us.

Operation Truth's battle does not end when all of the warriors come home. Our relevance will continue indefinitely, addressing the ripple-effects of this war on the Service members and their families for decades.


What issues will Operation Truth focus on?


The short answer is that Operation Truth will speak out on any issue affecting our troops and their families. However, initial focus will be on the following:
Stop-Loss
Problematic Role of Private Contractors in Combat Zones
Veterans Affairs Budget Cuts and the Need for Greater Care
Improved National Support Systems for Soldiers' Families
Proper Funding and Compensation for Reservists and National Guardsmen
Proper Counseling and Treatment for the Soldiers

anti- Iraqi forces????

This is from the BBC. It appears the US military has once again changed the 'status' of the Iraqis fighting against 'occupation'. By this method of thinking I assume that the US military now considers all American Revolutionary soldiers and leaders to be anti-American. If there is some flaw in that bit of deductive reasoning I'd like to know what it is. Oh I know all the wingnut arguments alright but none of them hold up.

"Initial reports indicate that approximately 50 anti-Iraqi forces were killed during a series of operations near Samarra on 14 August," a US military statement said.
(emphasis mine)

By US military I am of course referring to the so called 'high brass'. The average soldier is of course a proud and dedicated American. But it sure looks as though the planners of everything the US has done militarily for the past 3 years are hell bent on destroying America. And this latest stupidity in attacking the Iraqis is another big step in that direction.

Holey Jeans

You know what? When I'm walking along in a pair of holey jeans and I run into some one who is either thinking or saying that I'm some how not meeting some kind of arcane standards; I'm thinking "hmmmmm what kind of motherfucking standards did the sleaseball greedy bastards that run the company that made these low quality piece of shit jeans from low quality material with cheap foriegn labor have." Ahhhh the same kind as the person who would be upset with my air-conditioned jeans?
